Regan Graver is the London and South East Regional Women's Football League Player of the Month for August.

The Bees defender has started every game this season for Carly Williams' side and has contributed greatly to three clean sheets.

Graver netted the second goal in the team's hard-earned 3-0 win over Barking Women on Sunday 31 August.

She found herself in the right place at the right time to steer in a header, towering over her opponent to meet the ball.

On receiving the award, Graver said: "This is really unexpected, if I’m honest. I think as a team we’ve performed so well to start the season, especially being in a new league with a lot of new players in the squad. It’s a new challenge, but I’m really happy to win this award.

"Last year we faced tough tests against teams from higher leagues, and I believe that prepared us well for this season, which is why we’ve started so strongly. I think we are developing nicely as a team.

"For me personally, I had been on a dry spell for goals, so to score so early this season feels really special. Now that I’ve got one, I’ll keep working hard - but my main focus will continue to be on keeping clean sheets."

Brentford's vice-captain has been a mainstay in defence alongside Lucy Potter, Carolin Engelhard, Maddie Phillips and Evie Witek, and the quintet are a major reason why the team did not concede a goal in August.
