Sunderland end their Premier League campaign at the Stadium of Light on Sunday, chasing a final win that could potentially secure European football next season.
According to Sunderland Echo, Régis Le Bris has significant selection calls on his starting XI and his bench after injury setbacks this week, and these are the likeliest choices to face Chelsea.
Goalkeeper Robin Roefs has finished a brilliant debut season strongly, and there is little doubt he continues.
At right back, Lutsharel Geertruida looks likely to leave this summer but has underlined his professionalism and quality with two strong outings, so he seems certain to keep his place.
Nordi Mukiele has shifted inside during Ballard's absence over the last fortnight and performed well. Sunderland ideally want him at right back, but the reshuffle has worked, so he is expected to remain at centre back.
Luke O'Nien was excellent as a substitute against Everton, which should push him into the XI. Omar Alderete faces a late fitness test and Le Bris is currently expecting to be without him.
