Sunderland face Leeds United in New Jersey at 12.30am BST on Friday, the second fixture of their US tour as pre-season steps up.

According to Sunderland Echo, Régis Le Bris's side could line up along familiar lines, with attention on starters and possible bench options.

In goal, Melker Ellborg is tipped to start. Roefs has returned after World Cup commitments but is likely to be eased back, so Ellborg could get another chance to impress.

At right back, Nordi Mukiele is expected to continue after reverting to the role against Liverpool. It would be a major surprise if he were not in that position on opening day and beyond.

Dan Ballard produced an excellent comeback from ankle surgery against Liverpool, and will look to build on that strong start here.

With Omar Alderete due back on Wearside next month after the World Cup, Luke O'Nien has a great chance to stake a claim for regular minutes on this tour. He has made a very solid start so far.
