Remo to be without former Flamengo full-back João Lucas for Brasileirão clash

According to Coluna Do Fla, Remo will be without first-choice full-back João Lucas for their league meeting with Flamengo at the Maracanã, as he is suspended.

The defender collected his third yellow card on Sunday 15 in a 1-0 defeat to Coritiba, triggering an automatic ban. He had also been booked against Internacional and Mirassol.

João Lucas is well known to Flamengo fans. He played for the club from 2019 to 2021, making 19 appearances and scoring one goal, before a move to Cuiabá.

Flamengo arrive in form, remaining unbeaten under head coach Leonardo Jardim. On Saturday 14 they beat Botafogo 3-0 at the Estádio Nilton Santos.

The sides meet in the seventh round of the Campeonato Brasileiro on Thursday 19, with kick-off at 20:00 Brasília time.
