Renzo Saravia could be handed his first minutes as the right-back berth opens up for this weekend’s visit to Sevilla.

According to AS, Thierry Rendall collected his fifth booking against Oviedo, triggering a one-match ban, so he will miss the Sánchez Pizjuán on Saturday at 21:00.

The 32-year-old Argentine was signed outside the winter window after Foulquier suffered a long-term injury. He arrived in Valencia on 23 February and, as Corberán said last Friday, has effectively been going through a pre-season.

A month on from joining, his first opening now presents itself. He has been named in two squads but is yet to play. Saturday could change that.

Saravia agreed a deal to the end of the season and, with 10 games remaining, this could be a major audition. Corberán must judge whether he is physically ready to start against Sevilla. His last competitive appearance was on the seventh of December for Atlético Mineiro against Vasco da Gama in the Brasileirao.
