According to AS, Valencia expect right-back Renzo Saravia to arrive on Friday to cover long-term absentee Dimitri Foulquier, with the Argentine set to take the Frenchman’s registration and sign until 30 June subject to landing and medicals.
Saravia has been a free agent since December after leaving Atlético Mineiro, his last club. After two months without competitive action, Carlos Corberán and his staff will concentrate on getting him match ready, with the player hoping to help as soon as possible.
Persistent fitness issues for Thierry Rendall have also accelerated Valencia’s move for Saravia.
Miguel Ángel Ramírez, who coached Saravia at Internacional of Porto Alegre in 2021, worked with him for eight matches while the defender was coming back from a serious knee injury. He described Saravia as an excellent team-mate and professional who trains and competes well.
Ramírez views him as technically complete and aggressive in defence, and believes he could thrive at Valencia.
