AC Milan are reportedly leading Inter Milan and Juventus in the race to sign Parma defender Giovanni Leoni.
This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, via FCInterNews. They report that a sale of Malick Thiaw could enable the Rossoneri to move for the teenager.
It is certainly no secret that Giovanni Leoni is attracting transfer interest.
Parma only signed the teenage defender last summer. Reportedly they paid Sampdoria a fee of around €7 million.
However, that bet looks to have paid off in a big way for the Gialloblu.
Giovanni Leoni enjoyed an outstanding season with Parma. Particularly towards the end of the campaign.
The 18-year-old looked extremely comfortable at the heart of Parma’s defense as they avoided relegation under Cristian Chivu.

Inter Milan reportedly want to reunite Leoni with Chivu this summer.
Meanwhile, Juventus are also eyeing up a deal for the 18-year-old.
Considering all this interest from big clubs, it is little surprise that Parma are aiming to cash in big. Reportedly, the Gialloblu want a fee of at least €30 million for Leoni.
And it could be AC Milan who are in the strongest position to pay that.
As the Corriere notes, Como want to sign defender Malick Thiaw from the Rossoneri. This deal would be for a fee of around €25 million.
If Milan are to cash in on Thiaw, then they could quickly reinvest the fee for the German in a move for Leoni.
