Inter Milan have reportedly developed a genuine interest in sought-after Lazio center-back Mario Gila.
According to La Repubblica via FCInter1908, the 25-year-old could leave the Stadio Olimpico in the coming months.
Signed from Real Madrid in 2022, Mario Gila has become one of the most dependable defenders in Serie A.
However, he has less than two years on his contract at the Stadio Olimpico.
Furthermore, Gila’s low €1.1 million annual salary makes it unlikely that Lazio can hold onto him.

Despite Lazio’s effort to tie him down to a new long-term deal, Gila has yet to pledge his future to the Olimpico.
Meanwhile, AC Milan and Inter have taken note of his situation in Rome.
However, Inter’s interest appears to be more serious, with the Nerazzurri preparing for a major overhaul at the back.
Indeed, Francesco Acerbi, Matteo Darmian, and Stefan de Vrij are on the verge of leaving San Siro.
Therefore, their interest in Gila is unsurprising.
Yet, the former Los Blancos ace won’t come cheap, with Lazio slapping a €35 million price tag on their prized asset.
