Francisco Conceicao Transfer Latest as Juventus Open Door to Liverpool Interest

Francisco Conceicao has gone from useful squad weapon to possible sale, and that tells you plenty about Juventus this summer. According to Gazzetta dello Sport, the arrival of Kerim Alajbegovic has shifted the picture in Turin and the Portuguese winger is now a realistic candidate to leave.

That matters to Liverpool because his name has surfaced again in the market, alongside Manchester United. Conceicao only made his move from Porto permanent last year, with Juventus paying €30m and handing him a five-year contract. On paper, that looks like a player they planned to keep. In practice, football finance and squad planning change quickly.

Conceicao delivered eight Serie A goal contributions in 2025-26 and gave Juventus something direct in the final third. He runs at defenders, he carries the ball well and he can unsettle organised back lines. Coaches like that, especially in games where structure alone is not enough. Luciano Spalletti clearly found a use for him, but usefulness and untouchable status are different things.

Juventus transfer plans reshape market

The key figure here is Jorge Mendes. Gazzetta reports that during talks connected to Alajbegovic, there was a “heated exchange” regarding Conceicao. Mendes then made Juventus aware that Liverpool and Manchester United had asked about the player. That is how these situations tend to move, quietly at first, then very quickly once a club accepts the idea of a sale.

Juventus had reportedly considered other exits, with Khephren Thuram initially viewed as the more obvious candidate. Injury changed that. Once Thuram was effectively removed from the market, Conceicao became the player who could generate money and help rebalance the squad.

Liverpool interest and price point to watch

The price is the interesting part. Earlier talk put Conceicao at €70m, which always felt ambitious. If Juventus are now motivated sellers, the number drops. Anything above €30m represents a capital gain on their books, and that usually sharpens minds in boardrooms.

For Liverpool, this looks more like an opportunity than a priority. Andoni Iraola has other attacking profiles to consider and there are wider decisions to make across the squad. Still, if Juventus are prepared to deal and Mendes is pushing, Conceicao becomes one to monitor. Not because he is certain to move to Anfield, but because the conditions for a transfer are finally there.

Our View

From a Liverpool fan perspective, this feels like one of those links that makes some sense without fully convincing. Conceicao is clearly talented, he is aggressive in one v one situations and he brings that old fashioned winger quality of actually wanting to beat his man. Liverpool could always use more of that, especially against deep blocks.

That said, there is a difference between admiring a player and making him a major target. If Juventus are selling because he is no longer viewed as first choice, supporters will naturally ask why Liverpool should be the club to step in immediately. Eight Serie A goal contributions is respectable, not overwhelming. Good numbers, not automatic numbers.

There is also the question of fit under Iraola. Liverpool need attacking players who can press, recover the ball quickly and make smart off-ball decisions as much as they need flair. Conceicao looks like he has tools, but fans would want reassurance that he is more than a dribbler available at the right time.

If the fee comes down towards a sensible level, this becomes more interesting. At €70m, forget it. At something much closer to Juventus’ original €30m outlay, you can at least have the conversation. Right now, this feels like a market situation worth watching rather than a transfer to get excited about.
