Report – What Lamine Yamal actually said to Dani Carvajal after El Clasico | OneFootball

Lamine Yamal took the limelight in the recent El Clasico despite not giving his best performance on the night, primarily for all that was said about his pre-match statements on Real Madrid and the referees.

Immediately after the game, in fact, Los Blancos’ captain Dani Carvajal gestured to the teenager that he ‘talks too much’, a situation that then progressed to a clash after the Barcelona prodigy allegedly told the veteran defender ‘See you in the tunnel.’

Grossly misinterpreted

As relayed by Santi Ovalle (h/t El Desmarque) in a recent report, Lamine did not say anything remotely close to what was portrayed by the media.

What Yamal actually told the Real Madrid captain was ‘See you in the return leg’, thus sending a competitive message out to Real Madrid to look out for Barcelona when they meet later in the season at the Spotify Camp Nou.

The revelation puts Yamal’s words into perspective and completely changes the outlook of what he said, for it was in no manner disrespectful.

Yamal’s words, in fact, are backed by the situation in which Barcelona took to the field, especially considering that the Catalans were without Raphinha, Robert Lewandowski, Joan Garcia, and Dani Olmo at the Santiago Bernabeu.

Further, the youngster himself was far from his 100% as he was visibly in discomfort and did not participate half as much as he would have liked to.

Despite all the noise surrounding Yamal and his actions, the focus of the winger is on recovering fully from the pubalgia that continues to bother him.

As for the next Clasico, Barcelona and Real Madrid will face off again in La Liga in May next year. Before that, though, the two teams could face off in the Spanish Super Cup final in January, provided they prevail in their respective semi-final matches.
