Saturday’s reports suggest that a section of the Juventus playing staff were surprised that Thiago Motta was not dismissed after the team’s disappointing 3-0 loss away against Fiorentina prior to the international break, but now the club seem to have made a decision over the head coach’s future.
Before the March international break, Juventus fell to consecutive disappointments in a 3-0 loss against Fiorentina and a record-breaking 4-0 loss at home against Atalanta the week prior. With no trophies to play for this season and with Champions League qualification at risk, Motta has been under intense scrutiny at the Allianz Stadium over the last few weeks.
Now, according to reports on Saturday, Juventus have decided that the upcoming match against Genoa next weekend will be Motta’s last unless there is a convincing turnaround in the team’s performance.
Former Italy national team head coach Roberto Mancini seems poised to take over if Motta is dismissed.

According to reports from Calciomercato.com, a ‘large’ section of the Juventus playing squad expected Motta to be sacked following the 3-0 loss against Fiorentina last weekend.

However, the Binanconeri decided to continue with the current set-up for the international break after backing from Cristiano Giuntoli and John Elkann.
Saturday’s report claims that the feeling among the Juventus squad is that it is now only ‘a matter of time’ before Motta is dismissed.
