Reports on Sunday claim that Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City have already agreed a set of personnel terms with Juventus defender Nicolo Savona as an alternative option to fellow Bianconeri and Italy full-back Andrea Cambiaso.
Reports from various outlets during the January transfer window claimed that City were prepared to invest heavily on the signing of Cambiaso, which ultimately never materialised.
Tuttosport claims that there is still a possibility that City return to the negotiating table in the summer for Cambiaso, but for now, a set of alternative options have emerged, including Cambiaso’s teammate and understudy, Savona.

According to Footmercato, Man City already have a verbal agreement on personal terms with Savona ahead of a possible deal in the summer transfer window. Tuttosport adds that the Bianconeri would be ‘open’ to his sale.
Sunday’s report claims that representatives from City will continue to discuss a potential move further with Savona’s agent in order to reach a full agreement for a summer transfer.
There are, however, a number of other options on City’s full-back wishlist, including Newcastle United defender Tino Livramento and Wesley Franca of Flamengo.
Savona has enjoyed a rapid rise into the Juventus first-team, having made his senior debut during the 3-0 victory over Como in the first match of the 2024-25 Serie A season.
Since then, he has gone on to make 36 appearances across all competitions, including 27 in Serie A and seven in the Champions League, and has also earned his first call-up to Luciano Spalletti’s Italy national team squad.
