In the past hour, things have changed quite quickly with Fikayo Tomori, and the AC Milan defender looks set to depart to Premier League side Tottenham Hotspur.
The Tomori situation has been quite turbulent this month, as today has shown. Initially, a move to Juventus was likely, but with Sergio Conceicao’s arrival, it became clear that this was very much not on the cards. However, the move was not called off.
Instead, the club continued to listen to offers from the Old Lady, which frustrated Conceicao, proving that the defender was still able to leave if a suitable offer arrived, and tonight, it seemingly has.
Sky (via Milan News) write that Tottenham Hotspur have followed up on their interest from yesterday, and presented a bid in excess of €30m, including bonuses, to the club this evening. However, talks are still ongoing.
In the minutes after that, Daniele Longo reported that the deal is now in the ‘final stages’ which again shows how quickly this deal has moved.
As a result, the club will now need to make a replacement signing ‘in record time’ if things go through, however, with the reports flying out this evening, it seems like it will only be a matter of time before the Englishman returns to London.
