With AC Milan restructuring the management once again, the Rossoneri are looking for a new sporting director after parting with Antonio D’Ottavio.
Since RedBird took control of Milan, there have been many changes at the top of the club, as well as on the pitch, with the most recent occasion of this being D’Ottavio’s sacking following reported issues with Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
The Swede’s position is as high as you can get – without being the owner – so perhaps his decisions, or way of operating, did not work with the former sporting director. Alternatively, it could have just been the club wanting to go a different direction.
Regardless of why things changed, things have, and there have been several suggestions about who could replace D’Ottavio, with an internal promotion initially being the suggested idea. However, it seems this has changed
As has been reported in recent days, Fabio Paratici is a growing idea from the management, and he presents an intriguing possibility, with him looking to return to football after his recent suspension. Today, Calciomercato.com, citing Repubblica, has added to the reports, stating that the club are ‘hypothesising’ about hiring a ‘profile with great experience’, which Paratici has in bags.
In an ideal world, the new sporting director would work alongside all of the management, including the ‘increasingly involved’ Jovan Kirovski, and with Paratici’s successes in Italian football, it could be a step in the right direction, especially after claims that Milan need to ‘Italianise’.
