Atalanta and Juventus have ended a swashbuckling 90-minutes of action with European implications after an entertaining 1-1 draw in Lombardy.
Scorers: Retegui 78'; Kalulu 50'
Neither side could claim an advantage in the opening 45 minutes of action at Gewiss Stadium in what was an even affair in Bergamo throughout.
But a flurry of action highlighted proceedings on the pitch after the halftime interval, with Juventus first nearly taking the lead in the 50th minute when Pierre Kalulu was denied by mere millimeters after his effort was cleared off the line by Marco Carnesecchi.
Atalanta were made to regret a big chance that fell at the feet of Mario Pašalić when he curled his effort just wide of the post seconds later at the other end.
Kalulu then made amends for his earlier denied opportunity when he slotted home his first-time finish from close range to give La Vecchia Signora a 1-0 lead.
Former La Dea standout Teun Koopmeiners then denied his former employers with a goal-line clearance of his own in the 60th minute when he denied Ademola Lookman from leveling matters at one-all.
Gaspirini's determined side would not be denied, however, with second-half substitute Mateo Retegui heading home to level matters while bagging his Serie A-leading 13th goal of the season.
Turkish starlet Kenan Yıldız spurned a glorious chance for a stoppage-time winner after scuffing his shot wide from inside the box after opting to not play a square ball to Weston McKennie.
That would be enough for both sides to share the spoils on the night, with Atalanta now four points off league-leaders Napoli, and Juventus still just outside the top four after yet another draw under Thiago Motta.
