Revealed: Gourna-Douath’s conditions for permanent deal to Roma | OneFootball

Lucas Gourna-Douath arrived at Roma on the last day of the transfer market with a formula that includes a possible buy-out, but only if specific conditions are met.

According to Il Tempo, for the Giallorossi to be obliged to permanently purchase him from Salzburg, the French midfielder will have to play at least 50% of the minutes available in Serie A until the end of the season, excluding recovery time.

If this objective is reached, Roma will have to pay a variable amount that will depend on the final position in the championship.

The cost of the buy-out is set at 20 million euros in the event of a seventh-place finish or lower, with an increase of 500 thousand euros for each higher position, up to a maximum of 21.5 million.

If Gourna-Douath does not reach the established threshold, the club would still have the possibility of exercising the right of buy-out for 19.6 million euros.

The agreement with Salzburg also includes 2 million in bonuses linked to the definitive purchase and a clause that guarantees Red Bull 10% on the future resale of the player.

For now, the 2003-born midfielder has been excluded from the UEFA list for the Europa League, but he will have space in the championship to convince Roma to focus on him for the future.
