Inter Milan have made clear to Roma that they will only accept a straight cash offer of €45 million for midfielder Davide Frattesi.
This according to Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia, via FCInterNews. They report that the Giallorossi have held talks with Frattesi’s representatives to sound out a move, but Inter’s stance is clear.
In the first week of the January transfer window, links between Frattesi and Roma have intensified.
Reportedly, Frattesi wants to leave Inter. He is unhappy with his playing time, and wants to join a club where he’ll start regularly.
Meanwhile, Roma are reportedly the team with the strongest interest in the 25-year-old’s signature.
The Giallorossi are keen to take advantage of Frattesi’s desire for a change of scenery. Possibly as early as this month.
Roma have begun actively sounding out a move for Frattesi, reports Sky.
The capital club have already met with the former Sassuolo midfielder’s agent, reports Sky.
The Giallorossi did not make any formal moves. However, they have expressed their interest in signing Frattesi to the midfielder’s representatives.
However, the price tag remains a major hurdle for Roma to sign Frattesi.
Inter want a significant fee for the Italian international. Sky confirm that the Nerazzurri would not sell Frattesi for less than €45 million.
That would be quite steep for Roma. Therefore, the Giallorossi have toyed with the idea of a player-plus-cash bid that would lower the cash fee. Recent links include midfielder Bryan Cristante.
But on that front, Roma would be out of luck. Sky report that Inter have made it clear that they would only consider a straight cash offer for Frattesi this month,
