Vinicius Junior is one of the world’s best players, and one of the talismanic figures at Real Madrid, but that hasn’t stopped speculation on his future. Specifically, it is Saudi Arabia that are desperately pushing to convince him to walk away from the defending La Liga and European champions to start a new chapter of his career in the Middle East.

There have been many reports on the subject, and it has not best pleased Real Madrid head coach Carlo Ancelotti. Vinicius himself has publicly reiterated his commitment to the club in recent weeks, but even that has not stopped Saudi Arabia from insisting on his signature this summer.

The speculation has been especially fuelled by the fact that Vinicius is out of contract in 2027, and thus, he only has just over two years left on his current deal. Real Madrid are keen to reach an agreement in the coming months, which would end any chances of Saudi Arabia getting their man, but for now, nothing is close to being finalised.

Saudi Arabia have been working on a deal for Vinicius for a long time, and according to Relevo, their strategy is to take advantage of any failings in the planned contract talks between Real Madrid and their Brazilian superstar.

Vinicius is reportedly insisting that Real Madrid break their wage structure in order for him to sign a new deal, but for now, the club does not want to do this. However, they are said to be determined to secure an agreement in the coming months, so they could relent at some stage.

It would be a major shock if Vinicius departed Real Madrid, given that he has declared them as the club of his life. The project in Saudi Arabia is nowhere near as attractive as the one he is already involved in, money aside, so it would surely make more sense for him to come to an agreement soon.
