Gianluigi Donnarumma made his debut for Manchester City today in a 3-0 Manchester derby victory over fierce rivals United.
Goals from Phil Foden and Erling Haaland were enough for Pep Guardiola’s side to secure all three points.
However, Donnarumma put in a strong performance, making a good save to deny Bryan Mbuemo in the second half.
Speaking to the press after the game, Guardiola praised his new signing, with quotes via Oli Thomas on X.

“We know we have brought in a player with incredible experience, an Italy international,” the coach said, “he told me that he was happy to come to the Premier League and enjoy a new adventure.”
“We’re really pleased he wanted to join us,” the Catalan coach added.
Donnarumma joined on deadline day in a deal worth a reported €27 million.
He signed a four-year deal that will keep the Italian in Manchester until 2029.
Despite playing a major role in PSG lifting the Champions League for the first time last season, Donnarumma was essentially forced out of the club.

Head coach Luis Enrique encouraged his club to purchase a goalkeeper who he considers to be more in-line with his style of play.
PSG picked up Lucas Chevalier from Lille and Donnarumma left the French capital to join Manchester City as a result.
