Chivu brought the Italian into the starting eleven due to back pain suffered by club captain Lautaro Martinez.

Whilst the Argentine is likely to return in tomorrow’s match against Sassuolo, Pio’s inclusion cannot be ruled out.

Sky’s reports claim that both the head coach and the upper management believe in the youngster’s potential.

Therefore, Chivu will give the youngster opportunities to make his mark on this side.
