The Lega Serie A will set the kickoff dates of the last matches of the season for Inter Milan and Napoli tomorrow morning.

Sky Sport Italia, via FCInterNews, report that the final decision will arrive at around 11.00-11.30 CET.

The Serie A title race between Inter Milan and Napoli will go right to the final day.

The Nerazzurri are a point behind the Partenopei after today’s matches. Both teams drew – with Inter’s match a 2-2 thriller against Lazio whilst Napoli played out a drab 0-0 draw against Parma.

This means that Napoli still have the slenderest of advantages going into the final day.

Inter’s last league match of the season is away to Como. Meanwhile, Napoli host Cagliari.

Inter and Napoli will play their last matches at the same time. That way, neither knows the result of their direct rivals’ match when they kick off.

Moreover, there are a couple complicating factors.

Firstly, there is the fact that if Inter and Napoli finish level on points at the top, they will face off in a head-to-head playoff for the title.

If the Nerazzurri draw, and the Partenopei lose, that would be a possibility.

And scheduling such a prospective match will hardly be straightforward.

That is because of the fact that Inter face Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League final at the end of May.

Therefore, Inter will certainly want at least a few days to rest and prepare for that match.

As such, there are reports the the Lega Serie A is considering bumping forward Inter and Napoli’s final matches of the season to during the week.

That way, should it come down to a playoff, then it could take place on Sunday. That would give Inter nearly a week to prepare for the Champions League final.

However, that has not yet been confirmed.

Tomorrow will be the day that the league confirms the entire schedule for the last round of fixtures.

Sky report that the meeting will convene at around 9.00 CET. Therefore, the broadcaster expects confirmation of the schedule at around 11.00-11.30 CET.
