Fulham are closing in on a £28.5 million move for Ricardo Pepi. According to BBC Sport, the PSV Eindhoven striker arrived in London on Wednesday for a medical and to finalise terms.
Fulham tried to sign the 23-year-old in January, but PSV kept him for the remainder of the season. Sunderland were also linked during that window.
The Cottagers are now thought to be on the brink of completing a deal running to 2031. Marco Silva’s side are understood to be seeking attacking reinforcements, with Raul Jimenez out of contract in the coming months.
Pepi, a 34-cap USA international, has scored 13 goals in 29 club appearances this season, including three in five in the Champions League. He is expected to feature prominently at this summer’s North American World Cup.
Eindhovens Dagblad reports that PSV moved to cash in early to fund reinforcements and plan the summer with clarity. It adds that while his finishing is valued, aspects of his off-ball work no longer fit their long-term model, and that the player pushed for a London move once Fulham met the valuation.
