Mohamed Salah is leaving Liverpool after nine glorious years.

The Egyptian King brought the curtain down on his successful spell at the club on Sunday. Salah, 33, has reached an agreement to rip up his £400k per week contract one year early.

And that means Richard Hughes and Arne Slot are now desperate for a right-sided attacker.

There is little chance of Jeremie Frimpong or Federico Chiesa commanding that starting role next season - and Liverpool’s sporting director Hughes is working off a three-man shortlist.

That’s according to a report from Dominic King in the Telegraph - which claims Yan Diomande, Anthony Gordon and Bradley Barcola are in the outgoing Premier League champions’ crosshairs.

Diomande is the priority target

“Liverpool are prioritising the signing of a new right winger to replace Mohamed Salah, with RB Leipzig’s Yan Diomande a top target,” the report reads.

“While Diomande features prominently in Liverpool’s thinking, they are keeping a close eye on others, including Anthony Gordon, the Newcastle United and England forward, who was offered to them in 2024.

“Bradley Barcola, the Paris St-Germain attacker, has also been discussed at length. Liverpool were linked with him 12 months ago, but they did not want to sign anyone that would have suffocated the development of Rio Ngumoha, the exciting teenager who will train at England’s pre-World Cup camp.”

Diomande, 19, has been one of the stars of the European season - enjoying a breakout campaign with RB Leipzig.

The Ivorian - under contract until 2030 - is valued at €100m by the Red Bull-owned outfit and Liverpool could add Harvey Elliott to the mix in order to get the price down.

The winger joined from Leganes in summer 2025 for a bargain £18m - with RB Leipzig set to enjoy bumper profits on their star turn should they decide to cash in.

If Diomande cannot be prised out of the Bundesliga then the versatile Gordon could be brought in instead.

The 25-year-old England international is expected to depart Newcastle this summer and the Reds will face down competition fro Bayern Munich for the ex-Liverpool schoolboy.

Making up the shortlist is Barcola. The 23-year-old is out of contract until 2028 at Paris Saint-Germain and they would like to tie him down to a new deal.

But he hasn’t been starting as many matches as he might like - .

All three players are right-footed - meaning we will see a different kind of attack to the one that Reds have got used to with Salah in the lineup.
