This is why fans have often demanded that Liverpool look to sign a new defensive midfielder and, now, that seems to be exactly what's about to happen.

That is, according to a report from the Daily Briefing who suggest that the Anfield outfit have made 'initial contacts' for Real Madrid's Eduardo Camavinga.

The report goes on to say that any sort of bid for the Frenchman would be an 'ambitious' one, especially with how important the former Rennes player is to Alvaro Arbeloa's team.

Journalist Mark Brus outlines that a bid would cost Liverpool a minimum of €80 million (£69 million) but their interest is supposedly 'serious.'
