Rino Gattuso nearing Italy manager role | OneFootball

The Italian national team is looking for a new manager after the rejection handed by Claudio Ranieri and now, Rino Gattuso is a key candidate to land the role.

Corriere dello Sport have reported that the idea of Gattuso becoming the next Italy manager is now taking off and contacts are in progress.

A meeting has taken place in a secret location and lasted many hours. FIGC has not confirmed the details but there is a broad agreement that the ex-midfielder is the favourite to take over the role. A move is said to be edging closer and more developments can emerge in the next 2 days.

This comes after Sky Italia claimed that Gattuso is the favourite to become the next Azzurri and they also confirmed that talks have taken place about the move.

Stefano Pioli and Daniele de Rossi have also been linked with the vacant role in the last few days.
