Leeds United are devastated to hear about the tragic death of Liverpool FC forward, Diogo Jota and his brother Andre Silva.
A tough opponent to come up against, Diogo was known across the world for his ability within the game, and he made an ever-lasting impression on all who faced him. Andre was a promising footballer himself, with the 25-year-old representing F.C. Penafiel in Portugal.
During the 2017/18 season whilst at Wolverhampton Wanderers, Diogo contributed to his side defeating Leeds home and away, with a goal and assist in those games.
Then facing the Whites in the Premier League following his move to Anfield, three more matches saw the Portuguese international score twice and assist once for Liverpool.
Jota’s passion and love for the game off the pitch was evident and his ability on the pitch matched that, contributing significantly towards his side being crowned Premier League champions last season.
The entire footballing world is deeply saddened by this news and we send our heartfelt love and best wishes to Diogo and Andre’s family, friends, and colleagues both past and present at this difficult time.
