Paris Saint-Germain reportedly targeted River Plate’s Franco Mastantuono as a potential signing last October. If PSG pursue a deal, they could face one less challenger for the Argentine teenager’s signature.
Mastantuono’s release clause is reportedly set at €40 million, rising to €45 million in the last 10 days of the transfer window. PSG are still interested, but according to Diario AS journalist Eduardo Burgos, Manchester United is also closely monitoring the player.
Other top European clubs, including Barcelona, Manchester City, Arsenal, and Chelsea, are also monitoring Mastantuono. ESPN Argentina had earlier reported that Manchester United were particularly eager to sign him and expected to make a bid in January, though no offer materialized.

Diario AS reports that there will be an “auction” for Mastantuono. The 17-year-old playmaker is drawing strong interest from Manchester United and Chelsea, although he has a €45 million release clause.
Real Madrid are also reportedly looking to make a move for the Argentina Under-20 star, but no offers have been made yet. Mastantuono is under contract with River until 2026 and can move to Europe once he turns 18 in August, after playing in the Club World Cup.
Transfer expert César Luis Merlo has previously reported that Manchester United have shown the strongest interest in Mastantuono for a potential summer move. The club has been closely monitoring him, even watching him play in person. They are aware that the only way he will leave River Plate is if his €45 million release clause is met.
