Defender Rodrigues is set to leave Major League Soccer and return to Brazil, with his transfer from the San Jose Earthquakes to Mirassol nearing completion.
The 28-year-old center back is already in São Paulo state, where he is undergoing medical examinations ahead of a formal announcement. The deal was first reported in Brazil and later confirmed by Território MLS. Negotiations are considered to be at an advanced stage.
Rodrigues joined San Jose in mid-2022 and quickly established himself as a regular starter. Over three and a half seasons with the club, he made 102 appearances across all competitions, scoring five goals and recording three assists. He was a consistent presence in the Earthquakes’ back line and featured prominently during the club’s recent rebuilding period.
After a solid spell in MLS, Rodrigues returns to Brazilian football at a pivotal point in his career. The move to Mirassol places him in position to compete in the Copa Libertadores, marking the club’s first participation in South America’s top continental competition and closing his chapter in the United States.
