Roma add Ramon Planes to sporting director casting list | OneFootball

Roma is searching for a new sporting director to replace the departing Frederic Massara, and their primary target is Napoli’s Giovanni Manna.

As revealed by Fabrizio Romano, the Napoli club’s director is particularly admired by Gian Piero Gasperini, who holds him in high regard.

At the same time, however, Aurelio De Laurentiis, president of the Campania club, considers him a key part of the project.

Massara will leave Roma and is among three candidates for the role of sporting director at Marseille, but Gregory Lorenzi’s name is currently gaining traction.

OM has also considered Al-Ittihad’s Ramon Planes, who is being eyed by several Italian clubs and could become an option for the Giallorossi as well.

The Saudi Arabian club’s sporting director is reportedly open to a position in Italy and remains a name to keep an eye on for Serie A.
