Roma remains on hold, but the message is clear: Giacomo Raspadori has now reached a turning point.
As reported by Filippo Biafora of Il Tempo, the Giallorossi club is awaiting an official response from Atlético Madrid to the new offer made in the last few hours for the Italian striker.
The proposal put on the table by Massara calls for a loan with an option to buy, for a total deal worth approximately €20 million.
This figure brings the parties significantly closer after days of separation, with Roma – in order to close the deal – also open to the possibility of including a conditional obligation to buy, albeit structured non-automatically and tied to complex parameters.
The feeling is that at Trigoria, everything possible is being done to secure a deal by the first week of January, a crucial deadline for Gasperini. Pellegrini’s injury has accelerated transfer market discussions: Raspadori is seen as the ideal candidate to fill that position, offering versatility, experience, and an immediate impact.
Now the ball is in Atlético Madrid’s court. Roma have raised the stakes, raised the bar, and demonstrated a willingness to meet the Spaniards’ demands, without losing control of the deal. The next few hours will tell whether it will be enough to close a deal that, day by day, is becoming more concrete.
