The Friedkins have chosen, at least for now, not to make a final decision on the Gasperini-Ranieri dispute, but one aspect cannot be overlooked.
Roma must record approximately €80 million in capital gains by June 30.
This is a crucial financial objective for the club, which therefore finds itself forced to sell at least one big player to meet its financial demands.
The club is already working on negotiations to achieve this revenue, but the road still appears long and complex.
Commercially, Roma has signed two new sponsorship deals that will help strengthen its finances. Wizz Air will bring €2 million into the Giallorossi’s coffers in June.
Furthermore, the agreement with Eurobet.live will guarantee an initial payment of approximately €8 million. Another €15 million could arrive from the agreement between Serie A and IMG.
These new revenues, however, are not enough to completely bridge the gap, and Massara is already working to finalize the sales.
As Il Messaggero reports, Roma’s sporting director has already initiated discussions with several clubs regarding the initial transfers.
The first to leave is expected to be Baldanzi, whose €10 million buyout from Genoa will generate a €4.5 million capital gain.
Other negotiations could involve Salah-Eddine, destined for PSV Eindhoven for around €8 million, with the club merely recouping the purchase fee. Shomurodov’s buyout also appears imminent, as does Angeliño, who has asked to be sold.
As for the big names, Roma will need to make at least one high-profile sale to reach their capital gains target.
The most discussed players are Svilar, Koné, and Ndicka. The Frenchman, in particular, is in Inter’s sights, and currently appears to be the closest to a possible departure. Roma is asking €45 million.
