Sportitalia and Sky Sport Italia report that Lazio have sealed a €3m deal to sell Alessio Romagnoli to Al-Sadd, reviving a move first pursued in January.
The 31-year-old had already agreed personal terms in the winter and even bid an emotional farewell to supporters, thinking he had played his final game.
Lazio then blocked the transfer and brought him back for the run-in, with an understanding he could move on once the season ended. That scenario is now unfolding.
The centre-back is set to continue his career in the Qatar Stars League. The contract is expected to be for two years, with an option for a third.
Al-Sadd are coached this season by former Italy manager Roberto Mancini, though his future is uncertain after winning the title.
A lifelong Lazio supporter who came through Roma’s academy, Romagnoli played for Sampdoria and Milan before joining Lazio on a free in 2022.
