Chelsea retain their long-standing interest in Alejandro Garnacho and could make a move for the Manchester United starlet in the near future.
Indeed, the Blues first established their desire to sign Garnacho back in January. They held talks with his representatives but ultimately opted against making a bid like Napoli did.
Now that it’s been made public knowledge Ruben Amorim wants rid of the winger, Chelsea are ready to test United’s resolve for the £40 million-value ace.

Numerous outlets have continued linking Garnacho, hailed as a ‘phenomenal’ talent by David May, with a Stamford Bridge switch since the start of the summer. However, fans of both sides pondered whether a deal was less likely after Chelsea ignited their pursuit of forward Xavi Simons, who has been deemed their priority target in attack.
Fabrizio Romano spoke on the situation on Monday, though, and instead revealed there’s a ‘concrete possibility’ Chelsea move for Simons and Garnacho. They want to sign both before 2025/2026 gets underway and, following their lucrative £85m boost for winning the Club World Cup, the funds are certainly there to facilitate their arrivals.
The transfer reporter adds that United’s academy graduate is uninterested in the approaches he’s received from Saudi Arabia and Bayer Leverkusen – the latter of which would’ve seen him reunite with former manager Erik ten Hag – as he is determined to continue plying his trade in the English top flight where he’s spent the last three years.
Garnacho, an eight-capped international for reigning world champions Argentina, has racked up 144 senior appearances in all competitions for the Reds, scoring 26 goals and registering a further 22 assists.
He signed from Atletico Madrid’s youth ranks in 2020 for a fee of £420,000, so whatever fee United recuperate from his exit will generate pure profit.
