Romano: Saudi club could save Chelsea’s summer for 2nd time with bid for France winger

Chelsea want to sell Christopher Nkunku this summer, but it’s not proving easy.

Despite his talent, there just aren’t many takers for the Frenchman it seems. Bayern Munich have long been linked as admirers, and remain in the chase. But as we’ve heard from a number of insiders over the last few months, any interest from them is dependent on them making sales first.

Al Nassr swoop could mean they save Chelsea twice in one summer

Fabrizio Romano says that Al Nassr are set to sign Kingsley Coman from Bayern Munich – opening the door for a Christopher Nkunku move.

Well, things might be about to happen in that direction. Fabrizio Romano has just reported that Saudi Arabian club Al Nassr are closing in on Kingsley Coman.

“Club to club negotiations have started as Coman is now the top target for Al Nassr at the wing position,” the Italian insider has just Tweeted.

That would be superb news for the Blues – if Coman goes, Bayern will presumably get a very healthy, Saudi sized fee, which can be used on Nkunku.

After Al Nassr already saved Chelsea once by buying Joao Felix for a huge fee, they could be about to do it again by greasing the wheels of an Nkunku deal.

Chelsea closer than ever to Nkunku resolution

The reports from Ben Jacobs earlier today claimed that Chelsea were asking for £60m for Nkunku while Bayern Munich were “relatively firm” in wanting to pay “closer to £40m.”

Getting a big fee for Coman and opening up a gap in their attack would surely make it much easier for the German giants to bridge that gap. We’re suddenly very positive about a Nkunku sale – and all eyes are now on the Middle East and on Romano’s Twitter page for more updates about the progress of Coman’s move.
