Rosenior sets sights on FA Cup win with Chelsea | OneFootball

Liam Rosenior has set his sights on winning the FA Cup with Chelsea this season.

Chelsea take on Port Vale in the quarter-finals of the competition as the Blues look to end an eight-year wait for FA Cup success.

The clash with the third-tier strugglers represents a good chance to reach the final four, as Rosenior targets a trophy in his first season.

Despite a difficult recent run, which saw Chelsea lose four consecutive games before the international break, Rosenior said his team have what it takes to come through a difficult moment.

“We want to win. It’s not about me – it’s not about me winning silverware. It’s about the club being successful now and in the long term,” he said at his pre-match press conference on Friday.

“To do that, you have to go through difficult moments when you learn about the characters in the group. You need to go through these processes to make sure you make good decisions moving forward.”

With Reece James out injured and Enzo Fernandez dropped by the club for tomorrow’s game, Chelsea will name a new captain for the clash. Rosenior insisted he has enough leaders in his squad to stand in.

“We have got many players. We got [Moises] Caicedo. We got Tosin [Adarabioyo]. We got Cole Palmer. Joao Pedro, Marc Cucurella. We got leaders in the group.

“I will make that decision later today when I name the team. You’ll see who’s captain tomorrow.”
