Rossi to face Estudiantes again after heroic night for Flamengo | OneFootball

Agustín Rossi will cross paths with former club Estudiantes as Flamengo complete preparations for Wednesday’s Libertadores group match. According to Coluna Do Fla, the meeting comes after the goalkeeper’s heroic display against the Argentines in the 2025 quarter-finals.

Flamengo won the first leg 2-1 at the Maracanã, then travelled for the decisive return in Argentina. Estudiantes prevailed 1-0 in normal time after a Rossi mistake, sending the tie to penalties.

In the shootout, the Flamengo goalkeeper saved two penalties and secured a place in the semi-finals.

Now Flamengo’s first-choice, Rossi previously spent a short spell with Estudiantes from 2015 to 2017. Part of the under-23 squad, he played only three times for the first team.

He joined Defensa y Justicia on loan in July 2016, then on returning to Estudiantes moved to Boca Juniors in February 2017.

With Rossi available, Flamengo remain focused on the Libertadores. They face Estudiantes on Wednesday 29 at 21:30 Brasília time at Estádio Jorge Luis Hirschi in the third round of the group stage.
