For the first time this season, Manchester United head coach Ruben Amorim has four injury concerns as he prepares his side for Monday night’s visit from Everton in the Premier League.
United have gone four games unbeaten in the league and will want to build on their success with a convincing victory against David Moyes’ Toffees.
One player who is almost certain not to feature is striker Benjamin Sesko, who picked up a knee injury last time out.
Lisandro Martinez is unlikely to be ready to return, while there are doubts over Harry Maguire (thigh) and Kobbie Mainoo (knock).
Senne Lammens has firmly established himself as United’s number one this season and will continue in goal.
Even if Maguire is fit enough for the squad, he is unlikely to be risked from the start. So Leny Yoro will probably line up alongside Matthijs de Ligt, with Luke Shaw continuing in the left centre-back (LCB) position.
Amorim’s wing-back options are Noussair Mazraoui, Diogo Dalot, Amad and Patrick Dorgu. The Dane has been on fire for his national side and could make the starting XI, while Amad would be the most attacking option on the right.
Casemiro has been passed fit to play and is likely to continue his midfield partnership with captain Bruno Fernandes.
Manuel Ugarte’s confidence and form are low, especially after Uruguay’s 5-1 thrashing by the United States on Wednesday. Mainoo is the only other option if he recovers from his injury.
In Sesko’s almost-certain absence, we expect Mason Mount to start on the left of the attack, with Matheus Cunha up top and Bryan Mbeumo on the right.
However, it is also possible that Josh Zirkzee comes in as a direct replacement for Sesko, with Cunha and Mbeumo flanking him. Amad could also push up into attack, with either Dalot or Mazraoui taking his place at right wing-back.
Here, then, is our predicted XI for Monday’s 8pm kick-off:
