Manchester City’s vice-captain Ruben Dias could be set for a move out of the city centre for the first time since joining the club back in the summer of 2020.

Dias has been a staple figure at City since arriving from Benfica five years ago, not only emerging as one of the Premier League’s elite defenders but also settling into life in the heart of the city itself.

Many of City’s first-team stars have opted to remain close to Manchester’s footballing heart in recent years, though a number have gradually migrated towards Cheshire’s affluent suburbs – a trend long associated with United and City stars alike.

Alderley Edge and the surrounding ‘Golden Triangle’ towns and villages are known for drawing high-profile football personalities seeking privacy, space and luxury, while remaining a manageable distance from the Etihad Campus training facility.

Ruben Dias’ personal life has also increasingly attracted attention after his relationship with TV presenter Maya Jama became public, and the couple have been seen spending more time together in the North-West.

Now, according to the information of The Sun newspaper, Maya Jama and Ruben Dias have been spotted viewing an ‘ultra-modern home’ in the Alderley Edge region of Cheshire worth £4 million.

It is detailed that the 6,300 sq ft four-bedroom property also features ‘panoramic Cheshire views’, landscaped gardens, and an indoor leisure suite as part of the price tag.

The report quotes a source, who states, “It’s the third time Ruben [Dias] and Maya [Jama] have looked at the property. They spent about two hours there on Wednesday. It’s quite a long time to spend on a viewing but the house is very captivating.

“Ruben arrived in his Lamborghini and Maya came separately in a chauffeur-driven Mercedes. They looked deep in thought when they left together. The house is up for rent at around £20,000 a month, but also up for sale if the price is right.

“Maya has been spending increasing amounts of time in Manchester and Ruben is very settled at City. They are very happy together and want to move into a place together which they can call home.”

Should Dias proceed with a move to Alderley Edge, it would place him alongside a host of Premier League names who call the area home including a number of his Manchester City teammates, in an environment known for offering both prestige and privacy.

For Manchester City fans, the development will more likely reaffirm than challenge his long-term commitment to the club, highlighting how embedded he has become in the region, with the development accompanying his new long-term contractual agreement until 2029.
