According to Glorioso 1904, Benfica fear 21-year-old Nuno Félix's severe knee injury could derail his development, and he has not been in José Mourinho's plans since the head coach returned.
The hierarchy led by Rui Costa is worried the defensive midfielder may struggle to sustain his progress. He has been sidelined since pre-season and has not played this season.
He has followed the planned rehabilitation stages, but the long process means there is a possibility that, on his return, he might not have space to continue developing as the club intended.
Introduced by Bruno Lage, Félix made several first-team appearances and was named in the squad for the Club World Cup in summer 2025. He is currently working on the Seixal pitches, apart from the group, as he continues his recovery.
In 2024/25 he played 30 official matches for Benfica, 25 in Liga Portugal Meu Super, two in Liga Portugal Betclic, two in the Premier League International Cup and one in the Taça de Portugal. Across 1,959 minutes he registered one goal and three assists. He is valued at 1.3 million euros.
