Leandro Santos is leaving Benfica after the club approved a permanent move, and he is set to join Moreirense.

According to A Bola, Benfica and Moreirense have agreed a permanent deal worth about 800,000 euros, with a buy-back clause for the Lisbon side. The full-back, who has featured for the B team, will sign until 2030 and is expected to be presented on Friday, 23 January, in Moreira de Cónegos. He is already in the town.

The 20-year-old had seen two previous moves fall through, with Alverca and Vitória de Guimarães. He is no longer at the club’s facilities.

His departure opens a vacancy at right-back for Nélson Veríssimo’s side, with Daniel Banjaqui under consideration.

This season Santos has played 13 times for Benfica, nine in the Segunda Liga and four in the Elite League U20, across 893 minutes. He has one goal and one assist, and is valued at one million euros.
