Russell Martin expects Leicester City to add players soon and suggested his squad could change before their planned trip to Spain, after a 3-0 pre-season win over Northampton Town. Leicester remain the only League One club yet to make a signing this summer.

“Definitely. I expect there to be some arrivals fairly soon and there will be some people who leave the club as well because after what’s gone on, it’s been really difficult to keep everyone.” He told LeicestershireLive.

City struck three times inside 21 minutes, with first-half goals from Stephy Mavididi, Riley Carr and Will Alves securing the result.

Martin used 22 players, selecting two different XIs across the halves, and no new faces featured.

He hinted the group will look different by the time City travel to Spain in just over a week. Danny Ings is set to become the first summer signing, with the 33-year-old expected to sign a one-year contract at the King Power Stadium. The free agent left Sheffield United this summer and would add experience to a youthful squad.
