Wrexham dumped Nottingham Forest out of the FA Cup on penalties, with co-owner Ryan Reynolds celebrating on the touchline.
According to Wales Online, TV presenter Alex Aljoe covered the tie at the Racecourse Ground for ESPN alongside Beckford and said the cup’s magic was clear for their American audience.
The hosts surged 2-0 ahead before half-time, then Dominic Hyam made it 3-1 late on, but Callum Hudson-Odoi struck twice to force 3-3 and penalties. Wrexham won the shootout 4-3 and will face Ipswich Town next.
Aljoe described Wrexham’s win as particularly incredible and said a shootout victory with Reynolds dancing captured the FA Cup’s magic.
Reynolds attended with his mother for the first time, and manager Phil Parkinson said he had spoken to him before kick-off and was pleased for the family. He added he was sure they would enjoy the flight home with a few glasses of wine to celebrate.
