Ryan Reynolds’ business clout underpins Wrexham’s surge, and the co-owner now hopes for an FA Cup quarter-final as Chelsea visit in the fifth round. According to Wales Online, his off-field portfolio has grown alongside the club’s on-field ambition.
It is top flight versus Championship at the Racecourse Ground on Saturday. Wrexham edged Ipswich Town in the last round, Josh Windass scoring, while Chelsea swept Hull City 4-0 through a Pedro Neto hat-trick and an Estevao goal.
Reynolds and Rob McElhenney took over in 2021, delivering three straight promotions under Phil Parkinson. With the Premier League a stated aim, league form suggests a play-off push and the cups offer high-calibre tests and a glimpse of what could come.
Reynolds is thought to be worth between $400 million (£300m) and $448m (£336m). Returns from Mint Mobile’s 2023 sale to T-Mobile, reportedly worth over £200m to him, and a 20 per cent Aviation Gin stake sold to Diageo underpin that.
They have sold a portion of Wrexham to Apollo Sports Capital, valuing the club near £350m, and earlier this year recouped £15m in loans. Acting remains a major income stream, with projections around £100m a year, plus Welcome to Wrexham revenues.
He is married to Blake Lively and has four children. A previous marriage to Scarlett Johansson began in 2008 and ended in 2011. As for the Disney FC jibe, aired again by James McClean, the owners tackled it on their series with irreverent humour.
