Ryan Roberto bids Flamengo farewell as Shakhtar Donetsk deal agreed | OneFootball

Flamengo have agreed the sale of 18-year-old forward Ryan Roberto to Shakhtar Donetsk, and he bid farewell on Instagram on Saturday after travelling to Europe on Thursday to sign. The player said in a post that he grew as a person and a footballer at Flamengo, realised dreams, and leaves grateful.

He accepted Shakhtar’s proposal on Tuesday after talks that ran for several weeks, with Flamengo already aligned on terms. He was contracted until March 2027, was not renewing, and from October could have signed a pre-contract elsewhere.

Shakhtar will pay 9.5 million euros fixed plus 500 thousand euros in bonuses linked to simple targets, so the total could reach 10 million euros. Flamengo retain 10% of his economic rights for future sales.

Born in São Paulo, he started at the Paulistinha social project in Itaim Paulista and grew up in the Água Vermelha community. Despite a tough childhood, family support helped him pursue football.

He joined Athletico-PR at 10, spent three years in Curitiba, then moved to Flamengo in 2023. A regular in Brazil’s youth squads, he made his senior debut for Flamengo this season, appearing in two early Campeonato Carioca matches when the club used the under-20s.
