SAFiel criticises Stabile and sets up commission to unlock Corinthians non-binding proposal | OneFootball

SAFiel has issued a statement condemning the lack of progress on its non-binding plan after Corinthians’ advisory council met on Monday without discussing it, according to Meu Timao.

The group directed its demands at president Osmar Stabile, who had previously pledged to seek Cori’s endorsement to sign a preliminary memorandum that carries no immediate financial obligation. The council later said it received no formal request to place the item on the agenda, so the matter did not advance.

SAFiel accused the club of failing to give clear answers and called for respect for supporters and transparency. To break the impasse, organisers are creating a commission drawn from across the Corinthians community to press the hierarchy for decisions and speed.

The organisers say more than 85,000 people have signed their petition since early July. The proposal, presented on 2 June, targets a R$ 2.5 billion raise, potentially R$ 3 billion, mainly to cut football debt, fund performance and infrastructure, and strengthen governance and the social club.

Under the model, a future SAF would run professional football, while the club would retain an equity stake, receive around R$ 600 million in royalties over 10 years and hold golden share rights. Voting shares would be reserved for Corinthians supporters, with investments from R$ 250 and caps per CPF, and institutions could take only non-voting stock if needed.

The letter of intent is non-binding and requests formal analysis by the presidency, Cori and the Deliberative Council before any members’ vote. Implementation would require internal and regulatory approvals and independent due diligence, and the letter has a 60-day validity from signature.
