Saint-Étienne block exits for wantaways Lucas Stassin and Zuriko Davitashvili | OneFootball

Lucas Stassin (20) and Zuriko Davitashvili (24) both want to leave AS Saint-Étienne this summer, however, L’Équipe understands that their exits are being blocked by the club.

Davitashvili and Stassin were both signed last summer in what was an ambitious transfer window at ASSE. Their signings, it was hoped, would allow the club to survive in Ligue 1 upon their return to the top-flight, however, that did not come to pass and they have made a swift return to Ligue 2.

Neither player wants to play in Ligue 2 this season, however, Saint-Étienne do not want to cede either player. Due to their strong financial position and with the backing of their wealthy new Canadian owners, Les Verts are not obliged to sell either.

It means that there is something of a standoff. Both Stassin and Davitashvili have contracts that run until 2028. The latter has notably been linked with a move to Everton.
