Saint-Étienne fan Timothée Chalamet writes 'Down with Lyon' on Lyon shirt | OneFootball

Timothée Chalamet, a long-time Saint-Étienne supporter, scrawled 'down with Lyon' on an Olympique Lyonnais shirt as he signed it.

According to Get French Football News, the actor did so when Konbini asked him to autograph a Lyon top. He agreed, then added the message, which appeared with his signature above the club crest.

Chalamet has never hidden his affection for Saint-Étienne, which he says stems from his French father. In 2024 he described chasing the team by bike during the Payet generation and said Les Verts are the side he supports most, ahead of the New York Knicks.

At the start of January he added that for 2026 to be really perfect, Saint-Étienne would have to be promoted back to Ligue 1 next season.

ASSE are fifth in Ligue 2, four points off the automatic promotion places. The club have recently replaced Eirik Horneland with Philippe Montanier to help pursue that objective.
