AC Milan and Inter are both looking away from San Siro, but they are remaining in communication with the relevant parties to ensure that all parties move forward in the best way.

As expected with a move as monumental as one away from the iconic San Siro, talks about extending the clubs’ stay went on as long as possible, with the council looking at several options to have the best possible chance of keeping the stadium going.

However, it was eventually decided by both clubs that a move away was the best option. This does not mean the contact between the parties stops, though. Instead, the topics spoke about change, and now the focus is on ensuring that the projects are feasible for all parties.

In the past, Mayor Beppe Sala has been critical of the plans from both clubs, but today, he has suggested that things are positive when speaking at the Civic Arena and his words have been relayed by Milan News.

“By now the work [looking at the future of San Siro and the clubs’ respective future homes] is intense, and the meetings are many. The knots are those related to the Superintendence. I see positive work that is going on with more and more clarity.”
