Liverpool will face off against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge this Saturday evening as they look to earn a good result on the road in the Premier League. The Reds suffered a tough 1-0 loss away at Galatasaray earlier this week. Hence, the Merseyside club would be eager to pick up a convincing win this weekend.

Arne Slot will opt for the 4-2-3-1 formation once again and is expected to name a strong first team for this clash. Mohamed Salah, Alexander Isak and Alexis Mac Allister could all play from the start of this game.

Defence

Giorgi Mamadashvili will operate in between the sticks in the absence of Alisson Becker, who is sidelined because of injury. Ibrahima Konate will resume his partnership with Virgil Van Dijk at the centre of Slot’s defence as they hope to keep the opposition at bay throughout the game.

Dominik Szoboszlai will once again fill in as the right-back, while Milos Kerkez hopes to impress on the other flank as the left-back. Both of them will have to pick and choose their moments to join in on the attack.

Joe Gomez and Andrew Robertson will provide cover for the defensive positions on the bench.

Midfield

Alexis Mac Allister and Ryan Gravenberch will anchor the midfield for Liverpool as they look to win the 50-50 battles at the centre of the park and engineer some decent chances in the opposition half.

The talented trio of Cody Gakpo, Florian Wirtz and Mohamed Salah will operate just ahead of them as part of the Liverpool attack. All three of them need to combine well if the Reds are to come out on top at Stamford Bridge this weekend.

Curtis Jones, Wataru Endo and Rio Ngumoha will have to settle for a spot on the bench as they wait for their chance to make an impact in the second 45 minutes if required.

Attack

Alexander Isak will spearhead Liverpool’s attack in the final third. He would be eager to find the back of the net in the absence of Hugo Ekitike, who will miss this game due to injury.

Federico Chiesa will make up the numbers on the bench and might come on to influence the game in the final quarter if needed.
