Sander Berge has joined Fulham from Burnley.

The Norway international was linked with a move to Manchester United this summer, but he has completed a move to Craven Cottage.

Fulham announced the signing this afternoon for an undisclosed fee.

The 26-year-old, who was seen as a fallback option in the market if United were to miss out on Paris Saint-Germain’s Manuel Ugarte, has agreed a five-year deal. It means he won’t be playing Championship football this season after being part of the Burnley side that suffered relegation from the Premier League last term.

Berge will be a Fulham player until the summer of 2029. The Cottagers can also extend that deal by a further 12 months.

With United prioritising a move for Ugarte ahead of deadline day, it’s important to note that Berge isn’t the only midfielder to move elsewhere amid links to United this summer. For example, Youssouf Fofana joined AC Milan last week.

The former AS Monaco midfielder was linked with United after starring at Euro 2024 for the France national team.
